well, myself just finsihed with exams on 3 nov- first trimester @ PUMBA
please dont ask how were the papers? ..Grrr.. that question is the last to be answered on my priority list. Gosh! AFAI rem , evrytime my papers used to be bad.. i hope someday i can say yess my papers were really good this sem..wonder when that day will come( or will it come or not?)
But then coming back, i really wonder if the papers were as bad as i think..cmon i was always good in “feku” subjects n we had subjects like Principles n practices of management (PPM), Organizational behavior (OB) , and Legal Aspects of Behavior(LAB).. out of which the first two i have written completely on my imagination..
i developed this “feku” skill in my engineering itself..when for most of the papers i just used to write whatever i used to feel (imagination power!) , irrespective of what was there in the books. This approach ensured that i almost every time got a 40 in that subject. Needless to say, any engineer reading this will know the importance and value of “40″ .
For Legal Aspects of Behavior(LAB) i.e LAW we were supposed to rememeber the Sections of the different Acts which i think was asking for too much.. Ther are more than 100sections under different Acts which are written in “LAWFUL ” language which takes hours to decipher the real meaning. Why do they have to write in such a manner that nobody can understand.. i beleive thats a “Crime” in itself.
The other three subjects were managerial Economic- ME ,SQM -Statistics and Quantitaive methods and MA- Managerial Accounting.
ME was good as it makes sense- demand , supply, pricing, production…its logical and practical so not a problem. the nest two SQM and MA are supposed to be the most dreaded subjects in MBA ( for first sem ). just like we had Graphics and Mechanics in First yr of Engineering.
SQM is again supposed to be “easy” for engineers..but again that’s a common misconception just like Accounting is supposed to be easy for B.Com’s ..
SQM was good..all problems..while Accouting was a disaster, which is not surprising at all. Terms like “debit”,”credit”, Ledger,journal ,balance sheet.Cash budget, marginal costing, Flexible and fucntional budgets, cost/labour variances may be easy for a commerce student, but i was hearing it for the first time in my life.
well i practiced and practiced and still more practiced , all to get my final answers wrong in the paper. c’mon i cant ever have that Accounting brain..so am just hoping to sail through this paper.
All said and done we have holidays from 3rd – 15th nov..i hope to utilize most of this time in productive things like sleeping , sleeping ,watching TV, orkutting, meetin old pals and not so- old pals ,watchn new movies and not so- new movies, etcetra etcetra….
